Sigur Rós Brings Their Orchestral World Tour to Mexico City for One Final Night

Great news for (good) music lovers in Mexico City. A night of ethereal soundscapes and emotional grandeur awaits this November. Sigur Rós, the Icelandic band known for redefining the boundaries of post-rock, will perform at the Auditorio Nacional on Tuesday, November 25, in what is set to be the final orchestral show on their current world tour.

This special performance will feature the band accompanied by a 41-piece orchestra, under the direction of British conductor Robert Ames, known for his innovative collaborations at the intersection of classical and contemporary music.

This leg of the tour follows their critically acclaimed run through Europe and the UK earlier in the fall, and includes select dates across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. At the heart of these performances is ÁTTA, the band’s latest studio album — a return to the sweeping, emotional intensity that has defined much of their career. The live show is also expected to revisit key moments from their expansive catalog, including fan favorites from albums like Takk…, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

For longtime followers and new fans alike, this orchestral tour has offered a rare chance to experience Sigur Rós in a different light — not just as a band, but as composers crafting something closer to modern symphonic art. The Mexico City date, staged in one of Latin America’s most iconic venues, promises to be a truly special finale. How lucky we are!

Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster and at the Auditorio Nacional box office.
The Banamex presale begins June 11, with general ticket sales opening on June 12.
