A Historic Weekend at Galería Tianguis Neza: Bob Schalkwijk Presents His Photographic Vision of Ciudad Neza and La Lagunilla in Mexico City

This weekend, Galería Tianguis Neza is honored to present an exhibition that will mark a historic moment in its journey. Renowned photographer Bob Schalkwijk arrives with a powerful collection of images captured in Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl and the Tianguis of La Lagunilla in Mexico City, aiming to highlight the visual, cultural, and human richness of these two iconic spaces within Mexico’s urban imagination.

The exhibition invites visitors to view Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl and the Tianguis of La Lagunilla as reflections of a shared creative, popular, and at times contradictory energy that defines the country’s metropolitan life. In Bob’s work, both territories emerge as settings full of memory, identity, and unexpected beauty.

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase signed photographic prints by Bob Schalkwijk at very accessible prices, opening the door for more people to take home a piece of history and visual sensitivity.

Celebrating three years of activity this May, Galería Tianguis Neza has served as a platform for artists such as Christian Becerra, Ana Gallardo, Miguel Rodríguez Sepúlveda, Enrique Yesik, and Mónica Mayer. It has established itself as a space committed to authentic, grassroots art. This time, under the direction of the tireless and talented Luis Valverde—host, founder, and creative force behind the project—the gallery is preparing a day that promises to be truly unforgettable for all attendees.

The exhibition will take place on June 1st, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Art Corridor in La Lagunilla, on Jaime Nunó Street, near number 33.

It will be a unique opportunity to meet the artist, acquire signed photographs, and delve into a fascinating and sensitive perspective on two places where time, resilience, and creativity intertwine.

An open invitation to be part of a moment where art captures the living history of the city.
