From the creators of Parnita, Páramo, and Palomilla —yes, the same ones who’ve already spiced up Roma— comes a new concept in Colonia Juárez that blends the best of Mexican cuisine with the laid-back spirit of a social club. It’s called Cocina La Candelaria, and if you haven’t been yet, consider this your warning: it’s about to become your new favorite spot.
Located at Liverpool 46, this new hangout offers much more than great food. In addition to an open kitchen where everything smells like craving, there are ping-pong tables for those who prefer to get active after a few tacos (important note: there’s a tournament every Tuesday).
The menu is a guarantee of authenticity: well-made Mexican recipes, unpretentious but with homemade flavor. Don’t miss the Chile Relleno, a battered cuaresmeño chili stuffed with cheese, served with rice and beans, just like at the street stalls… but with the comfort of a restaurant. The salsas deserve a special mention, and the portions are generous as they should be.
The vibe that’s already a trademark of this group is present: music, tables full of friends, fair prices, and an atmosphere that invites you to stay longer than you planned.
